Post Ordination

You are now an ordained deacon. So you think you are done with the doaconal formation. Think Again! The Post Ordination path, a five year process in the diaconal formation, is a process of continued conversion. It is the ongoing process to strengthen the cognizant willingness to live in intelligent active and mature communication with the Archbishop and priests of the Archdiocese of Santa Fe, and with the Supreme Pontiff who is the visible foundation of the entire Catholic Church's unity. According to "The National directory for the Formation, Ministry, and Life of Permanent Deacons in the United States,"... The continuing formation of deacons is a human necessity which must be seen in continuity with the divine call to serve the Church in the ministry..." of the deacon. The goal of Post-Ordination diaconal formation, therefore, is to responsibley address various aspects of the deacon ministry, the development of his personality and his commitment to spiritual growth.

"Deacons who are ministers of the mysteries of Jesus... are not mere servants with food and drink, but emissaries of God's Church" (from the letter of St. Ignatius of Antioch to the Trallians).
